Stratton Creber Commercial enjoying a fun cook and dine event at Exeter Cookery School, learning how to cook“Thank you all for a wonderful afternoon and evening. We had great fun and really enjoyed ourselves. To have the chance to be creative outside the property world with our newly found cookery skills made it a very successful team building exercise. Jim’s friendly and professional guidance was both informative and great fun.

We were all surprised how good it all tasted at the end of the day and it was a great way to finish by enjoying the dishes we made with a few glasses of wine around the dinner table. We will certainly be back.”

Damian Cook, Stratton Creber

“Having the Exeter Cookery School located on the Historic Quayside in Exeter is vital in transforming this beautiful part of the city into a year-round visitor destination.  The Cookery School not only attracts visitors to the city, but also business in providing corporate and team building activities.  Exeter Cookery School is reaffirming Exeter as a regional foodie capital and it’s fantastic to see them as part of the thriving Exeter business community.”

“I spent the day here on the French Dessert making course today, what a warm and welcoming place to attend! Jim and Lucy made us feel completely at ease, despite us being absolute amateurs in a very professional environment! I can’t wait to book my next course with you in the New Year, thank you both for an awesome day! x”

“For the last couple of years the Exeter Cookery School have graced the Powderham Food Festival with their quality cookery demonstrations and their guest chefs.  Their marquee is always full of interested, happy visitors for all the demonstrations and chats.

Jim and Lucy Fisher not only stage impressive demonstrations with an impressive list of guest chefs but, and as an organiser of the Food Festival I’m always happy to say this, they are also very easy to work with; they know what has to be done by when during the setting up of the Festival and, then, during the Festival itself.

We’re very happy to welcome the Exeter Cookery School as a Partner of the Powderham Food Festival again this year on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October. Long may they remain with us!”
Bob Small, Organiser for Powderham Food Festival

The premises are beautifully equipped. I have learnt so many new techniques & recipes and all in a relaxed fun environment. I can’t recommend it highly enough & will be booking more courses in the future.”
Lynne Manns, Brittany.

Jim is a highly skilled teacher, as well as a chef, providing tips and guidance in a humorous way which enabled the 7 students in my group to produce a range of bread products I think we were all proud of. We all happily helped and encouraged each other and felt like friends by the end of the day. The pace is good – lots gets done but it is not pressurised and there are plenty of chances to be individual and creative. A really rewarding all weather experience developing some of those useful little life skills!
Claire Crafer, London.

The space where the courses are run is magnificent and the equipment on display is of an unparalleled standard. This is a very professional show indeed.Whether you want to learn ‘the basics’, refine your current expertise or repertoire, or just have a great, fun day in the kitchen then do give them a try“.
Ned Kelly, Swindon.

We learned so much. A really stunning location, very clean and immaculately kept. Jim was a really informative and relaxed teacher. He made it look easy and we felt very at ease. The food cooked was absolutely delicious and something you would get from a 5* restaurant, The experience filled us with confidence. and was so much fun. I would recommend a course here regardless of your ability There really is something for everyone We will be going back very soon Wonderful experience“.
William Cole, St Albans.

Despite its high end and stunning interior, prices at the school are very competitive, offering a large range of courses, ideal for families, couples, corporate and special occasions. Run by master chef finalist Jim Fisher, who ran a successful cookery school in France for 15 years, his approach to teaching is relaxed, friendly, hands on, packed with lots of tricks and techniques often overlooked by other schools“.
Ali Walker, London.
